During the restoration of the Church the Spire will be covered with scaffolding. With kind permission and help from Lambert Walker, our contractors, we are able to provide access to the top of the spire on the outside via ladders and platforms. Members of the public will be welcome to climb the spire on Saturday 29th June starting at 8-30am and continuing into the afternoon. Will interested persons please register as soon as possible with Bernard Parfitt (tel 01282 773759 or bparfitt@btinternet.com) as there will be only 50 people allowed to climb. All climbers will be accompanied by the contractors after a safety briefing on the ground. Application and sponsorship forms along with climb times will be sent out later when all registrations are in. Strong footwear (walking boots) will be required, hard hats will be available and must be worn. A minimum donation of £10 will be required along with any individual sponsorship climbers can get. This promises to be a wonderful once in a lifetime opportunity to view the beautiful Sabden valley from all angles. There will be plenty of time at the top to take photographs or videos. This event was a brilliant success with over 60 people climbing to the top. Everyone enjoyed this once in a lifetime event and £1700 was raised on the day. Thanks to all helpers and climbers for a memorable day
